Maya Henry got candid about her "physically and mentally draining" abortion experience.

In an exclusive interview with People, the model-actress and now author said that like her character Mallory in her recently-released fiction novel titled "Looking Forward," she has also gone through an abortion.

"What I went through in real life is very similar to what Mallory went through in the book. I definitely did have some complications, and I did have to go to the hospital alone," she revealed.

"It was very lonely, having these men tell you, 'Oh, it's going to feel like a heavy period, it's not going to be that painful, it's going to be easy.' But I'm like, you've never even gone through anything like [this], so how would you know to tell me?"

"That's why I wanted to include it in the book because I've seen so many people online talk about taking the abortion pill and it was the most painful thing for them. It's just mind-boggling to me that you could tell a woman how they're going to feel," she continued.

She also shared how much she regretted terminating her baby.

"If it were up to me, I wouldn't have done it. But then also, if I were to have made a different decision, then I would've lost the person that I loved. There were definitely difficult conversations about it. But looking back now, things happen for a reason."

A source reportedly close to Henry added that the abortion was the "lowest point of her life."

"It broke my heart seeing her like that when she's usually always so happy and positive. That was hands down the lowest point of her life, and it didn't have to be that way," the source told the outlet.

While Henry opened up about her abortion experience, she did not reveal the timeframe when it happened. She also did not disclose the man who impregnated her at the time.

However, in an excerpt from "Looking Forward," the main character's abortion took place while she was dating her popstar boyfriend Oliver. Like the former One Direction member, the fictional pop star rose to fame as a member of a boy band formed on a TV show.

In the book, Oliver gave Mallory an ultimatum: either keep the baby and lose him, or get an abortion and stay with him.

If the baby aborted by Maya was Payne's, which Enstarz could not independently confirm at the moment, it would have been Bear Grey's sibling.

Liam shares a son with his ex, Cheryl. The now-7-year-old kid, the singer's first child, was born in March 2017.

"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favorite memory I have so far," he posted on Instagram a few days after Bear was born.

"I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother, and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true."

The post has since been deleted.

Henry and Payne were first romantically linked in August 2018, following the latter's split from Cheryl, but only confirmed their relationship in September 2019, according to People.

In August 2020, the two announced their engagement. However, they called it quits and went their separate ways the following year.
