Cardi B Says She 'Don't F**k With' Joe Biden Or Donald Trump And Won't Vote In Presidential Election: 'People Got Betrayed'
Cardi B weighed in on the 2024 presidential election — and it isn't looking too good for either candidate.
It appears Cardi, born Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar, is sitting this November election out after making it clear she isn't feeling current Democratic president Joe Biden or Republican candidate Donald Trump.
The mom of two appeard on the cover of 'Rolling Stone' for June 2024 where she spoke about her new album, her marriage to Offset, and politics.
"I don't f**k with both y'all n****s," she stated, referring to both candidates, per the publication. The rapper has been vocal about politics in the past and has made it clear how much her stance has changed since the 2020 election.
The 31-year-old claimed her shift in opinion came from "layers and layers" of disappointment since Biden, 81, was elected. America's continuous funding of wars remains a point of contention for the former 'Love & Hip Hop' reality star.
"There's countries where kids are getting killed every single day, but because the U.S. won't benefit from that country, they won't help," she explained. "I don't like that America has this superhero cape on. We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience."
Cardi also claimed both candidates lack the best interest for citizens in the U.S. "The cost of living is too high, wages are too low, and too little is being done about it," she said. "I feel like people got betrayed."
As a testament to her consistent election commentary, Cardi expressed her long standing interest in politics years ago, following an unlikely meeting between herself and Bernie Sanders in a Detroit nail salon in 2019.
The now 82-year-old senator from Vermont and the then 26-year-old Cardi spoke candidly about police brutality, the economy, and healthcare.
“I want a president who makes me feel secure,” she said at the time. “I want a president who understands the pain of the people. I want a president who is going to give us answers.”
