King Charles Is Now Officially Richer Than Queen Elizabeth With $770 Million Fortune
King Charles is now officially more wealthier than his late mother.
The 2024 edition of the 'Sunday Times Rich List' revealed the British sovereign's personal fortune sits at $770 million, securing his position as the 258th wealthiest individual in the United Kingdom.
This represents a $12 million uptick since the list's previous release in 2023, as noted by 'The Sunday Times.'
Charles' riches have soared well beyond those of his late mother Queen Elizabeth. According to the 2022 'Sunday Times Rich List,' Queen Elizabeth held a personal wealth of $468 million before her death in September of that same year.
However, when it comes to personal wealth, King Charles, 75, pales in comparison to Hugh Grosvenor, the Duke of Westminster, Prince George's godfather. The Grosvenor lineage commands an astonishing fortune of $12.8 billion, as documented by 'The Sunday Times.'
It's speculated that Grosvenor holds the honor of being Prince Archie's godfather, although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have opted to keep the identities of their son's godparents under wraps.
According to a former aide to the King, Charles managed to rebuild his financial standing following his divorce from Princess Diana in 1996, which was estimated to be around $21 million. This resurgence was attributed to astute management of revenues from the Duchy of Cornwall.
"He became prudent at tucking away some money from the Duchy after that wipeout [of capital]," the former aide claimed. "We're not talking vast sums here — several tens of millions, no more. There have been suggestions that Camilla brought a good deal of money into their relationship, but that's really not correct."

The vast Duchy of Cornwall, valued at a staggering $1 billion, comprises an expansive estate encompassing land parcels, agricultural holdings, residential properties, and various other assets. Additionally, the duchy leases out commercial spaces in prime locations such as London, Milton Keynes, and Cornwall, generating substantial revenue to sustain the livelihoods of the Prince of Wales, his immediate family, and to fund philanthropic endeavors.
Upon Queen Elizabeth's death in September 2022, Prince William assumed ownership of the estate, inheriting the responsibilities and privileges associated with its management and upkeep.
As detailed in 'The Sunday Times,' Charles spearheaded a remarkable surge in the duchy's annual profits, catapulting them by an impressive 42.6% to an excess of $31 million during the period spanning 2011 to 2022. Notably, he personally received over $268 million in income derived from the duchy's operations over the interval from 2012 to 2022.
