Diddy 'Killed Kim Porter' Allegations Resurface After Cassie Assault Video: 'Reopen The Kim Porter Case'
Theories that Sean "Diddy" Combs may have had something do with his ex Kim Porter's death have resurfaced after a damning video of him assaulting Cassie Ventura surfaced.
The surveillance footage obtained by CNN allegedly showed Combs beating and dragging Cassie in a hotel in California in 2016.
Combs' behavior in the video not only appeared to match claims Cassie made in her now-settled lawsuit against the record executive, but some netizens also considered it alleged evidence that he may have been abusive toward Porter or had a connection with her 2018 death.
Porter's name became a trending topic on X, formerly Twitter, Friday as many users called for Porter's death to be reinvestigated.
"Y'all saying 'Cassie stayed with [D]iddy after all this,' this man is a billionaire who also had somebody killed and who had another popular rapper's car blew up...he would've killed her..probably killed Kim Porter!!" one person wrote on X.
Another person reposted the video footage of Cassie and Combs and wrote: "And we're supposed to believe P Diddy didn't harm Kim Porter?"
"I hope someone anyone starts to dig up the real facts of what [led] to #KimPorter's death [because] you know [Diddy] is somehow behind that," another suggested, while a different user wrote, "Reopen the Kim Porter case."
"I want Kim Porter's case reopened before the sun sets and I'm not f**king kidding," a fifth user demanded. Another claimed, "He killed that woman and y'all know he did!!!"
Writer Kola Boof, who referred to Porter as a "friend," also cast doubt on the former model and actress' cause of death.
"THE HOTEL .... withheld the footage of DIDDY beating up Cassie for years due to his wealth and influence. But you think the hospital told you the truth about KIM PORTER's death. I don't believe it!" Boof wrote.
Combs has not yet addressed the speculation. He previously denied any wrongdoing after he was accused of abuse, sexual assault and rape in multiple lawsuits.
Porter, who was with Combs on and off for about 13 years and shared three children with him, was found dead in her home in November 2018. She was 47.
She reportedly suffered from flu-like symptoms such as "nasal congestion" and "sweats" in the days leading up to her death, according to the coroner's report obtained by The Blast.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner certified that her cause of death was lobar pneumonia and that her manner of death was natural.
In April 2019, Combs told Essence that he checked on Porter just days before she passed away as she hadn't been feeling well.
According to the rapper, Porter -- who he has described as his "soulmate" -- had sent their kids to his home so they "wouldn't get sick."
He claimed she told him to "take care of [her] babies" before she died.
Despite the medical examiner's report and Combs' statements, however, skepticism and uncertainty surrounded Porter's death, with some claiming that she may have been murdered.
In 2020, R&B singer Al B. Sure!, Porter's ex and the father of her son Quincy, seemingly floated the theory that she may have been murdered, according to The Jasmine Brand.
"Just found this footage from the morning I learned of @LadyKP's aka #KimPorters murder and how it ripped the soul from my physical body," he said in a since-deleted Instagram video,
The following year, he once again suggested that her death could have been the result of foul play.
According to HotNewHipHop, the singer took to Instagram at the time to claim that before she died, Porter allegedly told him she was "running" from someone or something and that he told her to "call the FBI."
However, he reportedly later edited the post to now read that Porter was running "a marathon."
Meanwhile, multiple people, including his former bodyguard Gene Deal and ex-Bad Boy Record artist Mark Curry, have accused Combs of being physically abusive toward Porter when they were together.
Late last year, Curry told The Art of Dialogue that Combs allegedly once "busted" Porter's nose.
