Queen Elizabeth wasn't impressed with at least one element of Meghan Markle's bridal gown, according to a report.

The Duchess of Sussex walked down the aisle wearing a classy, asymmetrical gown by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The white gown featured an open bateau neckline and three-quarter-length sleeves. While many loved Markle's wedding dress, the late Queen had a two-word comment, and it resurfaced on Sunday, in time for Prince Harry and Markle's sixth wedding anniversary.

According to Ingrid Seward in her 2023 book "My Mother and I," the Queen found Markle's gown "too white" for a divorcee. However, she didn't air her opinion to the public and only shared it with her closest confidante, her cousin Lady Elizabeth Anson, the Mirror reported. The late monarch reportedly found the choice of color "not appropriate" since Markle was previously married.

"In the monarch's view, it was not appropriate for a divorcée getting remarried in church to look quite so flamboyantly virginal," Seward wrote in the extract of the book obtained by the Daily Mail.

Royal commentator and author Katie Nicholl also made a similar claim in her 2022 book "The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth's Legacy and the Future of the Crown." In an extract obtained by the same outlet, she claimed that Prince Harry's grandmother had "reservations" regarding Markle's "pure white" wedding gown.

"The wedding day was a great success, although the Queen had reservations about the pure white of Meghan's Givenchy dress, designed by Clare Waight Keller," Nicholl wrote.

"According to a source: 'The Queen was surprised that Meghan wore pure white on her wedding day. Perhaps it's a generational thing, but she believes if you've been married before, you wear off-white on your wedding day, which is what the Duchess of Cornwall did.'"

Markle was previously married to producer Trevor Engelson. They tied the knot in Jamaica in 2011. However, they divorced two years later.

The former actress dated Prince Harry in 2016. They announced their engagement in November 2017 and wed on May 19, 2018, at the St. George Chapel. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Sunday.

Prince Harry and Markle are now parents of two. They welcomed their son Archie, 5, on May 6, 2019, and their daughter, Lilibet, 2, on June 4, 2021.
