Jeannie Mai Thanks Cassie, Says Her Voice Has Been A ‘Shield And Sanctuary’ Amid Jeezy Abuse Allegations
Jeannie Mai shared heartfelt words for Cassie Ventura after she broke her silence regarding jarring video footage that surfaced of her then-boyfriend Sean "Diddy" Combs physically abusing her.
Mai, 45, revealed shocking allegations against her estranged husband Jeezy in April, claiming she endured multiple instances of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of the rapper.
The TV personality alleged that the 'Hip Hop and The White House' musician called her a "whore" and choked her before throwing her down a flight of stairs, and endangering their child.
Like so many other Instagram users and celebs alike, Mai left a heartfelt message under the 'Me & U' singer's post applauding her for her bravery in speaking out against domestic violence.
"In every echo of your bravery, Cassie, there lies a melody of hope that dances through the silence. Your voice has been a shield and sanctuary for many, including me. Thank you for turning your fight into your light," the mother of one wrote.
The former 'Real' co-host admitted to The Shade Room that she mistakenly believed her estranged husband was a changed man before their marriage.
Per the media outlet, Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, was arrested in 2014 for battery, false imprisonment, and making threats to one of the mother's of his children.
Cassie, 41, thanked her supporters for their love and support and expressed that she finally feels "safe," and urges people to believe DV victims "the first time."
