Snoop Dogg On Being NBC Special Correspondent To 2024 Paris Summer Olympics: 'I'm Going To Do Me'
Snoop Dogg got candid about the opportunity to be among NBC's special correspondents for the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Snoop -- real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. -- spoke with Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier, and he expressed how grateful he was to be among the correspondents to join NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico for the network's primetime coverage. He is tasked to provide his own take on the events, and he loves that NBCUniversal is allowing him to be himself, so that's what he intends to do.
"I'm going to do me, and what I love about the NBCUniversal team is that they really want for Snoop Dogg to bring what he brings; Stay within the realm of professionalism but to bring Snoop Dogg to the Olympics, and I love that," Snoop told ET. "I'm going to do my best to make sure that I look the part and play the part."

Snoop's unique sports commentary has gone viral in the past years. For instance, his remarks during the 2021 Tokyo Olympics about the horse Mopsie aka "Rave Horse," whom he dubbed as "gangsta" for his ability to "Crip walk" during the Equestrian event, entertained many.
"The horse crip-walking! You see that? That's sick. This horse is off the chain! I gotta get this m**********r in a video," Snoop gleefully narrated. He also doubled down on his hilarious commentary when he appeared on "The Tonight Show," announcing: "I'm going to meet the horse in real life. He's the returning champ. So I got to go meet him -- you know what I'm saying? -- and let him know I'm a big fan," Rolling Stone reported.
He also recently shared his commentary for the exhibition bout between Logan Paul and former NBA star Nate Robinson.

"It was a wake-up call to see that I can actually handle a real big event," Snoop told ET of his commentary ability during that boxing match.
However, he also acknowledged that there would be challenges, like pronouncing various names. However, the "Drop It Like It's Hot" hitmaker already has plans on how to deal with it.
"Look, I'm going to let Mike Tirico handle that," he quipped. "That ain't my section. They want me to be Snoop Dogg. [But] man, if they want the names messed up, I'll do the honors."

Snoop also shared that he grew up watching the Olympics. He's aware the world would be watching it, so he was honored to fly to Paris to witness the event.
"I think what makes the Olympics special is that the whole world is watching that one time, and it's a peace gathering," he added.
"Even though everybody's competing, it's all about love, the athletes nationally respect each other. The countries, for one time, are all on the same page. There's no politics involved. It's all about competition, sports, camaraderie, legacy, love, and just the history of the Olympics. So, to actually be there ... [is] probably [one of] the greatest things that [has] ever happened to me."
