Bill Gates is already gearing up for the upcoming season as he drops his must-read book list for Summer 2024.

The ninth richest person in the world revealed his top literary titles to binge-read under the hot Summer sun. Gates reveals these books have a running theme connecting all four -- service to others.

"Why we do it, the things that can make it difficult, and why we should do it anyway," the Microsoft founder wrote in a blog post.

"I didn't intend to go deep on the idea of service, but it's certainly as relevant today as ever. At a time when wars dominate the headlines and our politics is becoming more and more polarized, it's inspiring to appreciate those who help others and think about how we can be more generous in our own lives."

Here's Bill Gates' list of the best books for Summer 2024.

1. The Women by Kristin Hannah

The gripping novel tells the story of military nurses during the Vietnam War. Hannah highlights the untold stories of these brave women, highlighting the courage, sacrifices and resilience of these unsung heroes.

"It's a beautifully written tribute to a group of veterans who deserve more appreciation for the incredible sacrifices they made," shares Gates.

2. Infectious Generosity by Chris Anderson

"Infectious Generosity" explores the power of altruism in the Internet era, showing how acts of kindness and generosity can create a ripple effect that impacts entire communities and fosters even more generosity.

Anderson is a known TED Talks curator who has inspired millions through his storytelling.

"If you want to help create a more equitable world but don't know where to start, 'Infectious Generosity' is for you," Gates suggested.

3. Brave New Words by Sal Khan

Salman Khan is the founder and CEO of Khan Academy which aims to provide quality education to anyone in the world. He has been named among Time's 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Khan's book "Brave New Words" tackles Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the scope of education and how it can transform learning. The book emphasizes how AI can help enhance students' learning but not replace human interaction.

"I can't recommend Brave New Words enough," the billionaire philanthropist writes.

4. How To Know A Person by David Brooks

"How to Know a Person" teaches readers how to best understand and deeply connect with others through anecdotes and practical tips. Consider the book as a guide to building genuine human connections and meaningful relationships.

Gates shares of the book: "His key premise is one I haven't found elsewhere: that conversational and social skills aren't just innate traits-they can be learned and improved upon."
