Deion Sanders' Daughter Deiondra Slams Critics Who Said She Shaded Jacquees By Not Giving Their Baby His Surname
Deiondra Sanders is checking online trolls who shaded her for a recent parenting decision.
The internet erupted in response to her announcement of her unborn baby's gender and her decision to inform her partner, singer Jacquees, that their son wouldn't bear his father's name.
Deiondra, eldest daughter of sports icon Deion "Prime Time" Sanders, expressed that unless she's married, her child — born out of wedlock — would carry her surname in addition to Jacquees'.
The 30-year-old vocalist, born Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax, proposed naming their child in his likeness when Deiondra firmly asserted, "I'm not agreeing to that."
After some discussion, she reiterated her position: "That's not gonna happen ... 'cause I'm not married. So my last name is going as well."
Fans associated her choice with her desire for her son to inherit the influence and opportunities that her father's lineage has bestowed upon her and her four brothers and one sister.
"SMARTEST & BEST thing she has said thus far.... Yes babygirl," one fan said. Another commented, "That sanders name hold a lot of history he better change his last name to sanders."

Deiondra tackled the criticism by taking to social media to dispel any misunderstandings, saying her remarks were never intended to embarrass the "B.E.D." singer or diminish his importance in their child's life.
"What I SAID was my last name will be going in our childs name because I am not married and still use my last name," she said. "Que has worked very hard for own legacy and of course his son will have his last name also."
