Joe Biden’s Daughter Ashley Admits This ‘Heavy Sad Truth’ In An Excerpt From Her Dairy
President Joe Biden's daughter Ashley made headlines last month after claiming ownership of her stolen diary which contained shocking details.
Biden, 81, wrote a letter to a New York judge on April 8 stating she was "deeply saddened" that she had to write the letter because her "private journal was stolen and sold for profit."
The now 42-year-old claimed that she was "hypersexualized" at a young age and remembers "trauma," in addition to explaining a lingering sadness in her heart which she called a "heavy sad truth."
In an entry dated January 26, 2019, Ashley writes about opening her eyes to a new light, explaining that she cried that morning after a harsh realization.
"I realize that part of this thick pain in my heart is related to the fact that I don't have either brother as part of my life. That's a heavy, sad truth!" Biden wrote, highlighted in bright green ink.
"I want to imagine a different, or rather more fulfilled life for myself," she noted in the same entry. "It definitely involves sobriety + making some hard concrete decisions in the next few months."
The youngest of the president's two sons, Hunter Biden, was in hot water during that year when a political firestorm ignited over his former position as a board member of Ukrainian gas company Burisma, per ABC News.
Per the news outlet, Donald Trump reported to an unnamed whistleblower that Volodymyr Zelenskiy should look into alleged criminal wrongdoing at the hands of the Bidens, in connection with Hunter's position at Burisma.
Ashley's other brother, Beau, died on May 30, 2015, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, due to a recurrence of brain cancer. He was 46.
The woman who sold Ashley's diary, 41-year-old Aimee Harris, was sentenced to a month in federal jail and three months of home detention for selling her diary to Project Veritas — a conservative media group dedicated to secretly infiltrating progressive organizations.
Harris was also ordered to forfeit $20,000 and serve three years of probation at her sentencing in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, per CNBC.
