Jennifer Garner wants her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, to be happy, so he can be the best dad for their three kids, according to a source.

Garner, 52, and Affleck, 51, have remained amicable following their split in 2015. They co-parent their three children -- Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. The exes are even seen together occasionally with their children, and so the "Yes Day" actress only "wants the best for" Affleck, a source told People.

"She wants him happy and healthy so he can be the best dad possible," the source added.

Garner reportedly "likes that [Lopez] lives a healthy lifestyle and supports Ben's sobriety" because "Jen wants that for Ben."

The claim about Garner wanting her ex to be happy came shortly after the "Batman" actor was spotted looking "somber" at Violet's graduation party. Affleck arrived sans Lopez at his eldest daughter's bash on Monday. The "Justice League" actor sported a beige sportscoat on top of a crisp white button-down, a pair of light-wash jeans and dark leather boots.

Although Affleck wasn't photographed smiling during the outing, he was happier when he was spotted with his three children on Sunday. Ben, Violet, Fin and Samuel were spotted out and about in Santa Barbara. He dressed down during the sighting, wearing a gray shirt printed with a black lightning bolt on the front, dark gray pants and a pair of Nike sneakers.

The celebrity dad and his kids were seen walking through the parking lot and making their way into an eatery. They were later spotted having a good time while playing a card game at a table outside.

Lopez was noticeably missing during Affleck's recent outings. He was also visibly absent when she did the press tours for her new film, "Atlas." Netflix reportedly banned questions related to Affleck to prevent Lopez from embarrassment amid rumors that she and Affleck were having marital issues and living separately.

For weeks, the A-list Hollywood couple made headlines, with sources alleging that their marriage was heading for divorce. However, they were still spotted together at Fin's school play, but their reunion lacked intimacy, and there were reportedly no efforts to portray that they were still the loving couple they used to be.

"Ben strides out with his arms swinging while Jen face-gazes him, but she has her bag in the hand that is between them, which would create a barrier, and her thumbs are hanging rather awkwardly in her pockets," body language expert Judi James said of their gestures during the outing.

"In this pose, there is no hand-holding or mutual, authentic smiling that might suggest a 'denial' appearance to show they are still the loving and close couple fans hope them to be."
