Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ Accusers May Testify In Front Of Federal Grand Jury, Potentially Seeking Indictment: Report
Investigators are reportedly preparing to bring Sean 'Diddy' Combs' accusers before a federal grand jury, as the U.S. Justice Department is reportedly seeking the indictment of the rap mogul.
Per CNN, the musician is currently being named in eight civil lawsuits since November. Of the eight, seven of which accuse the 54-year-old of sexual assault. Sources at the news outlet claim witnesses have been notified by investigators who could testify in front of a grand jury in New York City.
Combs has declared his innocence despite all accusations against him — aside from his public apology after video footage surfaced of him brutally assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in the hallway of a Los Angeles hotel.
Ventura filed one of the aforementioned eight lawsuits against the Bad Boy Records' boss, which he "amicably" settled the very next day for $30 million. Accusers' testimony before a grand jury could significantly escalate the ongoing investigation of the rap star.
One source at CNN claimed authorities are moving intentionally through cases to ensure that the potential indictment is "bulletproof." Per the news outlet, HSI investigators are still gathering evidence and questioning their potential sources for information.
Former model Crystal McKinney claimed she'd kept her clothes "unwashed" since the night Combs allegedly sexually assaulted her wrapped in a plastic bag for what's now been over two decades.
McKinney's lawsuit references the NYC Gender Motivated Violence Act to "redress the substantial and lifetime injuries she has suffered as a result of being drugged and sexually assaulted by Sean Combs, or "P. Diddy," the filing alleged.
Ventura, 37, broke her silence after the disgraced rap star took to social media to publicly apologize for the leaked assault video, where he is seen grabbing her by the neck, throwing her to the ground, kicking, stomping, and dragging her.
The 'Me & U' singer, now married to personal trainer Alex Fine, expressed that "domestic violence is THE issue" and that nobody should "carry this weight alone."
In March, the 'I Need A Girl' rapper's homes were raided, with Homeland Security ruthlessly searching his upscale Holmby Hills Los Angeles mansion in addition to his home in Miami Beach following harrowing allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking.
"We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law," Ventura's attorney Douglas Wigdor told Page Six at the time. "Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct."
