Robert De Niro Says Donald Trump ‘Doesn’t Belong’ In NYC, Says He ‘Could Destroy The World’
New York native and actor Robert De Niro called Donald Trump a "danger" who does not "belong" in New York City outside Manhattan Criminal Court.
De Niro engaged in fiery commentary during a press conference Tuesday in NYC outside the Manhattan courtroom where Trump's hush money trial is taking place, claiming that the 77-year-old Republican candidate is a "danger" to Americans.
The 'Bronx Tale' actor told listeners that he has joined the Biden-Harris campaign "because the only way to preserve our freedoms and hold on to our humanity is to vote for Joe Biden for president."
Per Fox News, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were not present during the press conference. Despite protesters shouting, De Niro maintains that "Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city, but the country. And eventually he could destroy the world."
"I owe this city a lot. And that's why it's so weird that Donald Trump is just across the street because he doesn't belong in my city. I don't know where he belongs, but he certainly doesn't belong here," De Niro, 80, explained. "We New Yorkers used to tolerate him when he was just another grubby real estate hustler masquerading as a big shot."
"I hope this new ad campaign reaches outside the bubble to remind supporters of what a danger he is to our lives. This is not a threat. This is our reality," the father of seven warned, referring to his participation in a Biden-Harris campaign ad that described Trump as "out of control" who threatens to "terminate the constitution."
Meanwhile, Trump's hush money trial is set to begin deliberations Wednesday after hearing hours worth of closing arguments, per 'The New York Times.'
The former 'Make America Great Again' president is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records in relation to a reported hush-money deal alongside adult-film star Stormy Daniels.
Per the news outlet, Judge Juan M. Merchan is issuing instructions to jurors prior to launching deliberations.
