Sharpe and Skip Bayless hosted the sports debate show for seven years. Tensions grew between the two sports commentators, leading to Fox Sports and Bayless, 72, reaching a buyout agreement with Sharpe.

Now, one year later, the former NFL player has been working with ESPN on 'First Take' as a part-time guest. He also has reached massive success on YouTube thanks to his often-viral interviews on 'Club Shay Shay.'

The Denver Broncos alum revealed the amount of himself he had to pour into the show to get it working and the cost that he paid in his personal life.

"See, people are like, 'Well, Shannon, why'd you get so emotional?' Because if you knew what I put into that job, you would understand it. You see, the greater the expectation, the greater the hurt when it doesn't work out," he said.

He continued to explain how 'Undisputed' had a negative effect on his relationships. "I gave up everything. I lost relationships because I couldn't go out to dinner. I couldn't go on vacation," he recalled. "I couldn't do it because I had to watch all the sporting events. I had to be able to talk about them on television and talk about them expertly, so it cost me a lot."

The drama that led to the demise of the partnership was a series of disrespectful comments he felt from co-host Bayless. He remembered "There were times that led up to that that I felt shots were taken, and I let it go. I should've said something then, but I didn't."
