‘Atlas’ Co-Stars Jennifer Lopez And Sterling K. Brown Seemingly Clash In Awkward Interview, Fans React
Social media's been buzzing after an interview between 'Atlas' co-stars Jennifer Lopez, Sterling K. Brown, and Simu Liu went viral due to Brown's trolling undertone toward Lopez — and she wasn't laughing.
Liu read a prompt from a cue card that asked them light-hearted questions including what their go-to comfort meals are after a long journey. Brown sprung at the opportunity to offer an element of sarcasm, seemingly irritated by J.Lo's answer.
"I grew up — I'm Puerto Rican," Lopez, 54, began. "So I like rice and beans," the 'Selena' actress responded before Brown sarcastically darted in saying, "Are you Puerto Rican? Get outta' here!"
"Yes I am," Lopez shot back before continuing to explain herself. "Rice, and beans, and like, you know...chicken," Lopez elaborated before Brown's sarcasm jumped back in.
"Frijoles, pollo, a mi gusta!" Brown, 48, teased. A tense vibe was shown after "Jenny from the Block" shot Brown an up and down look with a stern face.
"'Are you Puerto Rican?' That's the sound of someone who's been told at least a hundred times she's Puerto Rican." an X user commented. "She's been in our faces for 30 d**n years — she doesn't have to keep reminding us. We get it, Jennifer," another tweeter wrote.
During the press tour, Lopez also shot down any questions regarding her reported turbulent marriage with Ben Affleck, who is currently filming his upcoming sequel 'The Accountant 2.'
On the other hand, Lopez was reportedly "extremely stressed" over "disastrous" tour ticket sales amid the reported divorce. Despite this, the two were seen out and about together, arm-in-arm, on May 30 in the streets of New York City.
The sci-fi action film 'Atlas' was released on May 24 via Netflix.
