King Charles And Queen Camilla Attend Event To Support Queen's Companion After Her Husband's Death
The king and queen participated in a service commemorating Sir Chippendale 'Chips' Keswick, Lady Sarah Keswick's deceased husband.
King Charles and Queen Camilla embarked on a heartfelt excursion to offer their support to a dear friend.
In a gesture of solidarity, the 75-year-old king and 76-year-old queen attended a commemorative ceremony for Sir Chips Keswick at St. Paul's Church in London on May 30. Sir Chips, the spouse of Queen Camilla's close confidante Lady Sarah Keswick, died on April 17. He was 84.
Arriving hand in hand, the royal duo joined mourners at the church, where King Charles engaged in a conversation with The Reverend Canon Alan Gyle. Sir Chips, a former chairman of Hambros Bank and Arsenal Football Club, received tributes from various quarters, including heartfelt condolences from the football club.
"Everyone at the Club is deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Sir Chips Keswick. Sir Chips' time at Arsenal spanned 15 years in which he served as both a board member and Chairman," the Premier League team said on X. "May he rest in peace."
Lady Sarah, supported by fellow Queen's Companions like Camilla's sister and two others, found comfort at the memorial service for her late husband. These Companions, part of a group of six close friends chosen by Queen Camilla, serve as a modern version of Queen Elizabeth's ladies-in-waiting, with less formal responsibilities.
