Rupert Murdoch Marries For 5th Time; New Wife Previously Married To Another Billionaire

Rupert Murdoch got married for the fifth time at age 93.

The media mogul tied the knot with retired molecular biologist Elena Zhukova, 67, on Saturday in his Bel Air vineyard estate in Los Angeles, according to the New York Times.

His bride was previously married to billionaire energy investor Alexander Zhukova, who she reportedly met when they were both students in the Soviet Union. They share a daughter named Dasha, an entrepreneur and socialite.

Interestingly, Dasha and Murdoch's third wife, Wendi Deng, are friends. This connection became instrumental in Murdoch and Zhukova's meeting.

After meeting through Dasha and Wendi and the business magnate's previous engagement to Ann Lesley Smith, a retired dental hygienist and conservative radio host, was called off, the pair reportedly started dating over the summer after. They were spotted vacationing together on a holiday cruise in the Mediterranean.

Their engagement was shortly announced in March. At the time, reports said they would walk down the aisle in a summer wedding.

True enough, the two tied the knot in early summer. In their wedding photos obtained by the outlet, Zhukova wore an off-shoulder white dress with a square neckline reportedly designed by London-based designer Emilia Wickstead and white pumps. Meanwhile, her groom wore a dark suit paired with a light brown necktie and black sneakers.

Murdoch first walked down the aisle in 1956 with his first wife, Patricia Booker, a part-time department store model and former flight attendant from Adelaide. They welcomed their first child after two years of marriage but divorced after 11 years as a married couple (1967).

In the same year the Fox News founder divorced Booker, he married Anna Maria Torv, a former Sydney Daily Mirror journalist. They were married for 32 years before they divorced in 1999. They share a daughter, Elizabeth, and two sons, Lachlan and James -- all got involved in their father's business.

Murdoch married for the third time two weeks after his divorce from Torv was finalized. He secretly got married to Deng, a Chinese-born American entrepreneur. The pair shared 14 years of marriage and two daughters -- Grace and Chloe.

Three years later, Rupert married again for the fourth time to Jerry Hall in 2016. They spent six years together as a married couple before getting divorced in 2022.
