Sexyy Red Has A Giant MAGA-like Hat On Stage But Denies Endorsing Trump For President
Sexyy Red has put an end to the speculations that she is endorsing Donald Trump for president in the upcoming election.
The "Pound Town" rapper took the stage on Saturday at the 2024 Roots Picnic music festival in Philadelphia to perform her biggest hits. Fans enjoyed the 26-year-old's steamy set as she performed tracks like "Bow Bow Bow", "Get It Sexyy" and "SkeeYee."
Red, real name Janae Nierah Wherry, sported a red and white crop top and shorts ensemble that matched her red hair streaks and white sunglasses. She was joined by dancers and a fake Secret Service agent during her set.
However, what caught everyone's attention was the giant inflatable red cap she had on stage, emblazoned with the phrase "Make America Sexyy Again." It bore a striking resemblance to the iconic red MAGA hat Donald Trump popularized.
Many fans took the stage prop as a hint that the she was endorsing Trump for the presidency.
"It's clearly MAGA inspired because she's a Trump supporter," one viral comment read.
"Redd being maga isn't surprising," another X user wrote.
Responding to the online chatter, Red took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify her stance on politics and deny that she's endorsing any candidate.
"It's Sexyy Red 4 President [US flag emoji] I'm my own candidate I'm not endorsing anybody period," she wrote.
She followed this up with a post repeating the slogan on her inflatable red cap: "Make America Sexyy Again."
Fans responded with support, thanking the trap rapper for clearing up the issue.
"I'm happy you cleared that up," OnlyFans influencer Niko Love wrote.
"Thank you for standing [on] ten toes and not changing for these people," another commenter wrote.
"Sexyy is the most patriotic rapper I know," one more fan commented.
Aside from performing at music festivals, Sexyy Red has also made the jump into wrestling, making her WWE NXT debut in May. The rapper teased fans that she'll be hosting WWE NXT Battleground on Sunday.
