Piers Morgan Compares Trump's Hush Money Trial To Clinton-Lewinsky Scandal: ‘What’s The Difference?’
British news anchor Piers Morgan compared Donald Trump's hush money trial to the jaw-dropping scandal between Bill Clinton and then-White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
During a recent episode of 'Piers Morgan: Uncensored,' Morgan hosted a panel focusing on Trump's historic conviction with four additional guests; Canadian businessman Kevin O'Leary, criminal defense lawyer Mark Geragos, Michael Knowles of 'The Daily Wire,' and political activist Francesca Fiorentini.
Morgan, who unapologetically boasts that Trump's trial was unfair, begs the question to political activist Fiorentini at timestamp 5:45, asking, "What's the difference?"
"Why is Bill Clinton able to have s*x with an intern in the oval office when he's president and lie to the American people about it on national television?" Morgan, 59, asked. "Why is he able to pay off Paula Jones $850,000, four times as much — five times as much as Trump's payment to [Stormy] Daniels — to get rid of a sexual harassment claim? Why is that deemed to be better than what happened with Trump and Stormy?"
When Morgan asked the panel to spot the differences between the two cases, Fiorentini responded: "I don't think anyone's making that case."
"Only the leftist in your mind are making that argument," the progressive activist shot back, comedically adding that if she ever had the "misfortune of sleeping with Donald Trump," she wouldn't need the money because she "would never tell a single soul."
"I do think there's a ridiculous double-standard here that will come back and bite the democrats," Morgan told Knowles.
The misconduct, now referred to as the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, involved 42nd president Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky, who was an intern at the White House from 1995 to 1997. The bombshell accusation led to Clinton's famous line, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky."
Despite the weight of legal troubles on his shoulders, Trump remains seemingly poker-faced, attending an MMA event in Newark on Saturday. He was escorted to sit cageside along with UFC's president Dana White.
Trump sets the record as the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a crime. His debut TikTok, which was filmed at the UFC event, has been viewed over 94 million times and has gained over 6 million likes.
