Ray J Talks Marrying Floyd Mayweather’s Ex-Princess Love And Their 4th Divorce Filing: 'I Loved Her, He Didn't'
Ray J sat with Shannon Sharpe on 'Club Shay Shay,' detailing how he ended up marrying Floyd Mayweather's ex-girlfriend of two years in addition to their recent decision to get divorced — for the fourth time.
When Sharpe asked Ray J, born William Ray Norwood Jr., if he met his wife Princess Love through the boxing champ, he admitted "the situation was weird."
The musician alleged that he "really liked her," but she was still "in a situation" with Mayweather when they met. When Sharpe dug into whether Love and Mayweather were in a relationship, the TV personality defended himself by claiming he often offered his romantic interests to Mayweather in the past.
Ray claims his perspective is based in "honesty," explaining the seemingly hypothetical scenario where if someone has multiple girls, but isn't focused on the one he wants, then it's only fair he gets to pursue his love interest in return.
"You like Princess [Love] too, but you ain't super locked-in... and we wanna be locked-in, congratulate," the 43-year-old explained. "Celebrate with us... just like I celebrated when you liked somebody and they liked you that I was liking. They liked you more, so no problem. We all celebrated together."
When asked about the current relationship between him and Mayweather, he believes they're "cordial." He admits neither one of them have issues; however, they don't speak anymore.
"Our friendship is not there anymore, not that he [Floyd] gives a f**k," Ray stated, agreeing that their dwindling friendship is likely tied to his relationship with his ex-girl.
"Well then why would you do it?" Sharpe, 55, asked.
"Because I loved her," Ray responded. "He didn't love her."
Love, who announced her divorce filing from the 'Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood' star, officially called it quits after the "One Wish" singer dismissed the filing three times in the past, per 'PEOPLE.'
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of our decision to divorce. After much reflection, discussion, and counseling, we have come to the difficult realization that our paths have diverged, and it is in the best interest of both of us to part ways," Love, 39, wrote in a statement.
Ray continually confessed his love for his wife, claiming he's "never dating again," and "doesn't want to meet anyone" after their years-long relationship.
