Pete Davidson unexpectedly walked off stage mid-show last month, but his pals were supportive, according to a source.

The "King of Staten Island" star refused to deal with hecklers. During his "Prehab Tour" stop at Steelhouse in Omaha, Nebraska, on May 24, Davidson decided to leave after "getting relentlessly heckled."

"Pete had a standup performance in Omaha, but the crowd got to him, so he walked off before finishing his set," an insider told In Touch. "He was getting relentlessly heckled by some people in the audience. Everyone is making a big deal about it except for Pete."

The source added, "Pete, who still struggles with depression, is being praised by his friends, and a lot of his fans, for not taking any crap that affects his mental health. That's why he left the stage. His number one priority is his mental wellbeing."

The outlet noted how several members of the audience were allegedly shouting and being unruly during Davidson's performance. However, his fans were quick to defend him.

"I just left the Pete Davidson show in Omaha, and I just have to say, where the f-k did decorum go at events?" one YouTuber said in a video. "He shouldn't have had to walk off stage because you guys don't understand that because you see crowd work on TikTok that you think every comedian now needs to be heckled to the point that if they leave the stage with one joke left."

The fan continued, "It's just absolutely absurd. You're ruining it for the whole show ... He didn't deserve that."

Davidson has been open about his mental health struggles. In a February 2020 interview with Charlamagne Tha God, the comedian admitted that he was "always depressed," but he already knew how to manage it.

"I'm always depressed, all the time. I have to constantly bring myself out of it," Davidson shared. "I wake up depressed, but now I know my steps. I have to go outside and be in the sun for a little bit, or go for a walk. It's all just programming yourself to trick your brain."

The "Saturday Night Live" alum added that he "hit (rock bottom) all the time." His condition reportedly alarmed people around him, and he relied on them to prop him back up.

"My rock bottom is when people are scared for my life, and I have to go away, and then I have to bring myself back up again. I think I've hit it a few times. As long as you're around good, supportive people, and if you're strong enough, you'll be able to get out of it," Davidson added.
