Ray J Jokes About OJ Being A 'Killer' On 'Club Shay Shay,' Immediately Apologizes
Ray J made a "distasteful" joke about O.J. Simpson on "Club Shay Shay" and immediately regretted it.
During his podcast interview, released Thursday, host Shannon Sharpe asked Ray J about his infamous 2007 sex tape with Kim Kardashian and how different he believes the Kardashians' lives would have been if it had never been made.
Sharpe noted that while Kim's late father Robert Kardashian gained recognition as one of the attorneys who represented Simpson during his 1995 murder trial, it was her sex tape with Ray J that really sparked her popularity.
Before answering Sharpe's question, however, Ray J -- real name William Ray Norwood Jr. -- made a quip about Simpson and the allegations that he killed his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman.

"Damn, that n***a just died. Rest in peace, O.J. He was a cold one," he said, before turning to talk to someone off-camera.
"Can I get some of that O.J. we had last night? That s**t was killer. That s**t was good as f**k," Ray J said, causing Sharpe to laugh.
But Ray J immediately apologized and acknowledged that the joke was out of line.
"I didn't mean that. That was distasteful and disgraceful, and that's not OK. And I want to apologize to everybody in here," Ray J said.
Simpson died from metastatic prostate cancer on April 10. He was 76.
In 1995, the former Hall of Fame football player was acquitted in the double-murder case during what was dubbed the "Trial of the Century."
Simpson was later sentenced to 33 years in prison after being found guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping in 2008. He was released from prison after serving nine years behind bars.
Meanwhile, Ray J told Sharpe that he believes his sex tape with Kim had a massive cultural impact.
"We would all be different," the younger brother of singer Brandy suggested. "We'd have on different clothes."
Ray J added, "Probably more people would be going to college and getting an education and being successful. There may not be any OnlyFans and all the opportunities like that. Are we a part of the cure, are we a part of the disease? I don't f**kin' know. All I know is I'm just trying to make it right."
Ray J admitted that he regrets making the tape now that he's become a dad.
"The whole thing is wacky," he said. "With my kids, it's not OK."
Ray J has a young son and daughter with his estranged wife, Princess Love.
