Delonte West, former NBA player, suffered a medical emergency and was found unconscious by police.

According to reports, the ex-Cleveland Cavaliers basketball star was first arrested in 2022 on two different occasions. He was reportedly seen trying to break into a vehicle and trespassing, while he was apprehended a second time for public intoxication.

He was arrested on Thursday for trying to evade police when they attempted to serve a warrant for failing to live up to the terms of his release, 'Fox Sports' shared. His violations are both misdemeanors and he is set to be arraigned Friday morning. He was being held on $2000 bail at Fairfax County Center in Virginia.

According to reports, West initially ran when police approached him. Authorities chased after him, and was able to relocate him unresponsive. It is suspected that this was the result of a drug overdose.

"Narcan was administered by officers, but did not have the desired effect. He was transported to a local hospital and narcan was administered again, which yielded the desired effect," police said in a statement. "West was released from the hospital and transported to the ADC."

The Washington, D.C. native has had a public history of health and addiction struggles, including addictions to alcohol and embalming fluid. Those vices has led West, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, to homelessness at various points.

Mark Cuban, the owner of West's former team the Dallas Mavericks, has tried to help West at various points.

"It's a struggle for him," Cuban, 65, told 'TMZ' in 2022. "I mean, addiction is awful. And mental illness is awful. He's at the point in his life where he's got to want to be helped."
