Model Sara Milliken is clapping back at online trolls spewing hate after she won a beauty pageant contest and was announced as plus-sized Miss Alabama.

Milliken, 23, won the pageant fair and square and is set to perform later this year in the national finals. Despite her victory, she's being labeled as an "embarrassment" across social media. The model has finally achieved her years-long wish of placing first in the beauty contest, which took place over Memorial Day weekend after two previous attempts.

"No matter what your body looks like, no matter where you come from, you can do anything you set your mind to," the 23-year-old who competed as a self-described "plus-size" participant, told WKRG. "I met so many amazing and accomplished women."

However, the comment section in the winning announcement showed division, causing both supporters and trolls alike to clash.

"Embracing and cheering on obesity is insane to me," Facebook user Scott Eckles responded. "She's extremely unhealthy and this is a slap in the face to the young girls who have worked hard and maintained a diet to actually be a beauty queen. This is an embarrassment to the state of Alabama."

"I'm all for being happy in life but promoting being unhealthy has gone too far," another commented. Positive comments supported Milliken, like, "Congratulations, you're beautiful," and "She should be Miss America, definitely represents the country's population."

Milliken believes some of the verbal abuse that was hurled at her was disgusting, per 'The Sun.'

"Even though I'm not at that point, it can lead people to do some very dark things to themselves," she responded. Per the media outlet, the new pageant winner claims she's blessed to be living out her dream.
