Kylie Jenner’s Failed Ulta Beauty At Target Launch Leaves Shoppers ‘Feeling Gaslighted:' ‘My Wallet Is Safe’
After Ulta Beauty at Target announced the collab for Kylie Jenner by dousing pink paint over a Target shopping basket, fans were left confused and feeling "gaslighted."
Patrons were seemingly less than thrilled, taking to the Instagram comment section to voice their disapproval and confusion about the promotion. Even VS Pink claimed that the ad looked right up their alley. "We are absolutely seated for this collab," they wrote.
The results of the comments reflected the miscommunication perceived by the audience, as many left comments making wild guesses, including some comedically suggesting "Pepto Bismol."
"THE NEWS IS OUT!️ @KylieCosmetics is coming to #UltaBeautyatTarget 6/9. Set your alarms for this Sunday and be the first to shop your fave lip combos. @ultabeauty #kyliecosmetics #kyliejenner," Target and Target Style captioned their post Thursday. Despite the mega chain's attempt to rally excitement, they were met with the exact opposite.
"What a let down, who's even buying Kylie Cosmetics in 2024. I was excited for Glossier!" one user replied. "Keep Kardashians out of my happy place please," another responded. "You literally could have just given the pink baskets and it would have better news than this," a disappointed user wrote. "I feel gaslighted," another underwhelmed shopper replied.
As the site pushes forward with the launch — announcing, "Just Dropped: Kylie Cosmetics" — they're currently stocked with the 26-year-old's lip kits, tinted butter balms, glosses, and lipsticks, citing that "there's even more in store."
Prices on the trendy products range from $18 to $35. Jenner's brand launch at the cult-favorite store comes after her older sister Kourtney Kardashian — who had to undergo urgent fetal surgery during her pregnancy — started selling Lemme Vitamins at Target.
