T.I. Compares Wife Tiny Harris To Joe Jackson When It Comes To Daughter Heiress' Singing Career
T.I. recently detailed the regimen his children undergo while following in the footsteps of both him and his wife, Tameka 'Tiny' Harris.
During an interview with 'The Breakfast Club' morning show, the 'Bring Em' Out' rapper provided insight into the different parenting styles the two take on regarding their kid's careers.
When DJ Envy inquired about the Harris family shopping record deals for their youngest daughter, Heiress Diana Harris, T.I. added that she's moving under the rule of her Grammy Award winning mother.
"She's up here with her mom," the rapper said.
"For real, I don't push the industry on none of my kids," the 43-year-old stated.
"Heiress is under her mother's tutelage as a singer and a performer and she just dropped the song with VanVan," he explained. "She is a dope-a*s MC."
When Charlamagne Tha God asked whether they two are divided in the idea of pushing child stars, he answered with a stern, "Yes."
"She definitely Josephine Jackson," the rapper joked, playing on the late-Michael Jackson's father's name Joe Jackson.
Known to rule his talented children with an iron fist, the late Joseph Walter Jackson was the talent manager and leader of the legendary Jackson family of entertainers. The band manager and father created the iconic group, The Jackson 5. He died on June 27, 2018, and is buried in the same Los Angeles cemetery as the "King of Pop."
"If you messed up you got hit, sometimes with a switch, sometimes with a belt," the late Michael Jackson said of his dad, Joe, in his autobiography 'Moonwalk.' "Dad would make me so mad at him that I'd try to get back at him and get beaten all the more."
In a recent Instagram post, Heiress is seen taking on intense vocal training alongside her teacher, which appears to include physical exercise as well.
The 8-year-old is featured on viral sensation Van Van's new song, "Be You," which was released in March. The self-affirming song encourages listeners to love themselves and ignore haters. The music video, directed by MC Lyte, has been viewed over 360,000 times.
