Chris Rock is trending on X, formerly Twitter, as many social media users claim he deserved the slap from Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars.

The "Bad Boy" star's new movie successfully debuted at no. 1 with over $56 million in ticket sales domestically on its opening weekend. With this, people are rallying with him two years after the infamous Oscars slap incident.

"The world has spoken: Chris Rock deserved it," tweeted one X user, quoting the successful box office debut of Smith's film.

"Chris Rock is trending because folks think Will Smith should slap him again. Agreed," said another.

"Chris Rock should keep people's wives out of his mouth. He did that to get a laugh out of White people. Karma is coming for Chris Rock. I can't wait," opined someone else.

"Will Smith's career was never gonna be over or even halted behind that slap, 'cause actual Black people never f**ked with Chris Rock like that to care enough. He slapped the right Black person," remarked a different commenter.

"Will Smith could slap Chris Rock every single day for 365 days in a row and I wouldn't give a single f**k," quipped another person.

Meanwhile, someone else opined, "I don't support violence and never hit anyone. At the same time, Will Smith is a talented actor and Chris Rock is a talented comedian (I loved him in 'I Love My Wife'). Will apologized and deserves fan support. Did Chris ever apologize for attacking Jada? Words matter too."

The X user demanded the comedian apologize to Chris' wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.

"I'm glad we all agree, I mean, right or wrong, the man was defending his wife," added another X user.

"Chris should not have made fun of Will's wife! He ruined a wonderful moment for Will and Jada! He's a slime [in my opinion], and Will is great!" said a different commenter.

In 2022, Smith smacked the "Everybody Hates Chris" star on stage after he made a joke about his wife's appearance at the Oscars event.

"Keep my wife's name out of your f**king mouth," Will shouted at Rock after slapping him onstage.
