"The Simpsons" has made many predictions that ended up coming true, but a new archaeological discovery has sparked rumors that the show itself may have been long foretold.

A mummy's sarcophagus that was recently dug up in a 3,500-year-old cemetery in Minya, Egypt, depicted a figure that some social media users have compared to the beloved "Simpsons" character Marge Simpson, according to the New York Post.

Markings on the upper lid of the coffin showed a yellow-colored woman wearing blue headgear and light green clothing that left her shoulders bare.

The figure appeared eerily similar to Marge, who is known for her trademark bouffant of bright blue hair and light green tube dress and has yellow skin like all other "Simpsons" characters.

Some users on Reddit immediately linked the figure on the mummy's coffin to the Simpson family matriarch.

"Marge?" one user commented, while another suggested, "Egypt predicted 'Simpsons.'"

"Egyptians and Greeks were neighbors so it's not too crazy that she married Homer," a third user joked, referring to Marge's husband, Homer Simpson.

"Matt Groening really is a time traveler," read another comment, referencing the creator of "The Simpsons."

"The only documented time in history where 'The Simpsons' didn't do it first," a fifth person quipped.

However, some Redditors pointed out that the painting on the coffin is believed to represent the goddess Nut and the 12 hours.

In ancient Egyptian religion, Nut is the goddess of the sky and heavens.

"It's Nut, goddess of the sky. Her body is the sky. That's why she's the sky to the sarcophagus," one Reddit user commented.

According to The Egyptian Gazette, the coffin was one of several unearthed in Middle Egypt last year.

The cemetery where the coffins were discovered is believed to be the resting place of senior officials and priests of the New Kingdom, which spanned from 1550 BC to 1069 BC.

Coffins of this period "often feature detailed carvings and paintings depicting the deceased, deities and scenes from the 'Book of the Dead,' a collection of spells intended to assist the dead in navigating the afterlife, said TheArcheologist.org.

The coffin with the depiction of the woman reportedly belonged to Tadi Ist, the daughter of the High Priest of Djehouti in Ashmunein.

This comes months after fans suggested that "The Simpsons" may have predicted the Apple Vision Pro spatial computer.

Eagle-eyed internet sleuths noticed that the device, which was released in February, looked almost identical to a headset featured in the 2016 episode titled "Friends and Family."
