Michelle Obama Warns Daughters Not To Follow Barack’s Footsteps: ‘It Will Never Happen’
Former first lady Michelle Obama isn't a fan of her husband's chosen career. In fact, she has warned her daughters not to follow in their dad's footsteps.
This was what former President Barack Obama revealed during the star-studded fundraiser for President Joe Biden's reelection campaign in Los Angeles on Saturday.
During the event's panel discussion, the ex-POTUS clarified whether his daughters -- Malia, 25, and Sasha, 23 -- would ever enter politics.

"That is a question I do not need to answer because Michelle drilled into them so early that you would be crazy to go into politics," the dad of two revealed, quoted ABC News.
"It will never happen."
It seems the former first daughters listened to their mom's advice as they have steered clear of politics. The eldest, Malia, is pursuing a career in the entertainment industry as a scriptwriter and director. She recently made her red carpet debut at the Sundance Film Festival, where she premiered her short film titled "The Heart."
As for Sasha, she graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) with a degree in sociology in 2023.
The "Becoming" author also seems to be distancing herself from the political sphere. Despite a growing clamor for her to run for the presidency, Mrs. Obama has made it clear she has no plans of filling the shoes her husband left behind in the White House.
In a 2019 interview with The National, the "Let's Move!" advocate clearly expressed there was "zero chance" she would run for president. In March, Michelle's director of communications doubled down on her previous statement, repeating that she "will not be running for president."
Despite a life away from politics, Michelle is keeping herself busy with her many advocacies. Earlier this month, she attended the 2024 CAA Amplify summit and spoke about her production company with Barack, Higher Ground.
"This is where America is, and you've got to meet people where they are. If Hollywood is where they are, as Barack and I think, then how can we be a part of changing this, helping to be a part of this landscape and broadening the types of stories that get told?" said "The Light We Carry" author, per The Hollywood Reporter.
