Alex Jones was in hot water for claims he made during the Sandy Hook shooting tragedy in 2012. Now, he's been ordered to put his money where his mouth is.

A federal bankruptcy judge granted the prominent conspiracy theorist's request to convert his bankruptcy filing into a liquidation of his personal assets in order to pay the hefty defamation settlements owed to the families he victimized in the Sandy Hook School shooting.

'NBC News' reported that the judge also dismissed the bankruptcy case for his media company, Free Speech Systems, which allows him to continue broadcasting.

The explosive InfoWars founder reportedly owes $1.5 billion for the allegations he made during the horrific incident, which notably took the lives of 20 first graders and six educators in Newton, Connecticut.

Jones, born Alexander Emrick Jones, made jarring claims following the tragedy, calling the shooting a "hoax" during an episode of 'InfoWars.' He claimed the shooting was staged by the government so they could "go after our guns" and "start a civil war," per 'Statesman.'

In addition to invalidating the event's authenticity, the 50-year-old alleged that grieving parents were "crisis actors" or people acting out emotionally to sway public opinion.

In August 2022, 'NPR' reported that Jones had indeed changed his tune, stating that the tragedy in fact really happened. "Especially since I've met the parents. It's 100% real," Jones said at his trial, per the news outlet.

According to the 'Associated Press,' Jones' assets were brought into question when he and Free Speech Systems — the parent company to InfoWars — filed for bankruptcy protection in 2022.

The dismissal of that case came as victims and relatives of the Sandy Hook won defamation lawsuit judgments for more than $1.4 billion in Connecticut and $49 million in Texas.

The December 14, 2012, tragedy of Sandy Hook is the deadliest mass shooting in Connecticut history and is the deadliest at an elementary school in American history.

Adam Lanza killed 26 people after murdering his own mother in their Newton home. Lanza, 20, shot himself in the head, according to 'Yahoo! News,' before first responders arrived.
