Meghan Markle is "desperate" to patch things up with Kate Middleton and has reached out to her cancer-stricken sister-in-law, an insider has claimed.

Markle and Prince Harry's relationship with Middleton and Prince William reportedly has been tense since the Sussexes decided to step back from their roles as working royals.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's bombshell revelations and accusations against the royal family, including Middleton, allegedly only served to widen the rift between them and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

But after Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis and treatment, Markle and Prince Harry have reached out and offered "olive branches" to their sister-in-law, the unnamed insider told Closer U.K.

The source claimed Markle is "ready and willing" to end her feud with Middleton and "let the anger and bitterness go."

According to the source, healing her rift with Middleton would not only bring Markle relief but also give her image a much-needed boost as she promotes her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

"Meghan's desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them -- appearing like some sort of royal savior could only do her image good," the source claimed.

The insider added: "And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate -- she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her. Meghan has made it clear she'd love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone's sake."

The source claimed that Markle and Prince Harry have sought the help of mutual friends in their efforts to reconcile with Princess Kate.

"There's no doubt making peace with William and Kate would be a huge relief for Meghan on many levels, not least because it would also improve her reputation and, in turn, the new brand she's cultivating," the source added.

Enstarz could not independently verify the report, but this echoed claims made earlier this year by royal expert Tom Quinn, who told the Mirror that Markle reached out to Middleton via back channels when the speculations about the future queen's health and whereabouts spiraled out of control.

"She is genuinely worried about Kate's health," Quinn claimed at the time.

Two weeks later, Middleton set the record straight on the various rumors by releasing a video message announcing that she was diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer and undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

On Saturday, Middleton made her first public appearance in six months when she attended Trooping the Colour alongside the rest of the royal family.

However, Markle and Prince Harry -- who have not attended the annual parade since his father Charles was crowned King in 2023 -- were accused by a royal expert of trying to "steal the thunder" of Middleton during her return to the spotlight.

Shortly before Middleton appeared at Trooping the Colour, the Sussexes' pal Nacho Figueras posted photos on Instagram of a new jam and dog biscuits from American Riviera Orchard.

While speaking to "TMZ Live," Jonathan Sacerdoti questioned the timing of the soft-launch of Markle's new products, though he acknowledged that it could have been a "coincidence."
