T.I.'s daughter Deyjah Harris is thankful to her dad for his advice on preserving her virginity years after the rapper faced intense backlash over his controversial parenting style.

On Sunday, the 23-year-old influencer took to her Instagram Stories to post a Father's Day tribute for the rapper, whose real name is Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.

Deyjah shared a throwback clip from their family reality series, "T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle," and said her dad was "right" when he gave her words of wisdom about sex and relationships at an early age.

In the video, T.I. told a much younger Deyjah: "Sweetheart, you are a pretty girl, so guys are always going to be after you. They're going to tell you you're pretty, they going to tell you you smart, and they're only telling you that to get your sugar."

While she might not have understood the real meaning of "sugar" at the time, Deyjah wrote that she's now thankful her father continued to remind her to never give it to the "wrong person."

"He still says this [to] this very day and honestly he's right. I make sure to tell myself every year 'keep your sugar' because of him," Deyjah captioned the post, which was reposted by The Shade Room. "He's so real for putting me on game."

T.I., who shares Deyjah with ex Ranniqua Brannum, received praise from social media users over the advice he gave his daughter.

"It's through a father that little girls learned the value of being a woman," one Instagram user commented.

Another wrote, "She was so confused once he said sugar ... so innocent and cute. This is why dads are so vital!"

The recent reactions are very different from those T.I. got when he revealed back in 2019 that he made Deyjah undergo a hymen test every year.

During an interview on the "Ladies Like Us" podcast, the rapper-actor said he accompanied his daughter, then 18, to a gynecological exam every year to have her hymen checked. Many saw this as a form of virginity test.

At the time, T.I. faced criticism from the public and even organizations such as Planned Parenthood, which clarified on X, formerly Twitter, that virginity "has absolutely nothing to do with your hymen."

Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that Deyjah liked tweets putting her dad on blast, including one that called his actions "disgusting" and "controlling."

T.I. later appeared on "Red Table Talk" to clarify his comments.

While he did join his daughter on her gynecological exams, the rapper insisted that he wasn't in the exam room when it was being conducted and that Deyjah's mother "was present every time."

T.I. also said that Deyjah had agreed to undergo the procedure. However, the rapper said he was "incredibly apologetic" to his daughter for speaking about such private matters in public.

In addition to Deyjah, T.I. and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Harris' blended family also includes six other children: Zonnique, Messiah, Domani, King, Major, and Heiress.
