Shannon Sharpe Defends Belichick's 48-Year Gap With Girlfriend: 'Use Me For The Ride, I Use You For The Hide'

Shannon Sharpe sees no issue with 72-year-old Bill Belichick dating a woman 48 years his junior.

The former New England Patriots head coach's massive age gap with his 24-year-old former cheerleader girlfriend Jordon Hudson has become the subject of criticism and jokes since news broke last week that the pair are dating.

But it appears that Belichick and Hudson have found a supporter in Sharpe as he defended the couple's relationship on his podcast, "Nightcap."

"It's got to be OK for them. You can't live your life for society," the NFL legend told co-host Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson.

Sharpe explained that not everyone "goes into a relationship ... with the right intentions," but he believes it's no problem if both parties get what they want out of it.

"Guys go into a relationship wanting for something knowing damn well they have no intentions of marrying that female. Women go into a relationship wanting certain things, the security of dating an older man, knowing damn well they ain't trying to marry that man," Sharpe said.

"As long as we both go into it...use me for the ride, I use you for the hide," he added. "As long as we are both getting something out of this, I'm cool with it."

Further addressing those who took issue with the couple's age gap, the "Club Shay Shay" host pointed out that Belichick and Hudson are "two grown consenting adults," and their relationship is nobody else's business but theirs.

According to TMZ, which first reported the news, Belichick reportedly met and hit it off with Hudson while on a flight from the Boston area to Florida in 2021.

The six-time Super Bowl champion -- who is reportedly worth around $70 million -- kept in touch with the then-student-athlete in the proceeding months.

Belichick and Hudson's relationship turned romantic after his split from longtime partner Linda Holliday, 60, during the 2022 NFL season, according to the outlet.

While their relationship was made public just recently, it appears that some in their circle have been aware of it for quite some time now.

Last month, former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski made a joke about Belichick dating a younger woman during Tom Brady's Netflix roast.

"Coach, you used to talk about Foxborough High School when we sucked," Gronkowski said. "But now I know why you were so obsessed with Foxborough High School: you were scouting your new girlfriend."
