Kendrick Lamar is reportedly upping security measures before filming his next music video.

Lamar is preparing to film a new music video in his hometown of Compton, a location that has had a major influence on his career, music, and identity.

According to 'TMZ,' the performer is paying $120 an hour in order to make sure that extra security is on set. The exact number of additional security personnel has not been disclosed with details of the video shoot remaining classified.

This precautionary measure comes in the wake of heightened tensions and a reported need for enhanced security, particularly after his recent public feud with fellow rapper Drake.

The Lamar-Drake feud reached a climax with a series of diss tracks from both sides, culminating in Lamar's track, "Not Like Us," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100

After the release of "Not Like Us," the song seemingly marked the end of the hip-hop beef, until one of Drake's security guards was shot in an incident that, while serious, has not been linked to Lamar, 37, or his camp.

Nevertheless, this occurrence has underscored the volatile environment surrounding high-profile artists and the potential dangers they face.

Recently, Pharrell Williams took a musical shot at Drake in his song "Double Life."

He sang: "Hey, what are you hiding? / What you do when you're gone? / Nothin' wrong bein' private / Make sure it ain't wrong / Your life double-sided / Two-faced like coins / What side do I get? / What side are you on?"

Many fans believe that these lyrics are a reaction to Drake, 37, mentioning Pharrell in the midst of his battle with Lamar.
