Jennifer Lopez 'Resented' Ben Affleck, Had To Eat Junk Food To Show Him She's 'The Gal He Wanted': Report

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck's marriage has been rumored to be heading for divorce, and an insider claims that she's now focused on achieving her "best shape."

Lopez, 54, and Affleck, 51, haven't addressed the split rumors plaguing them for months. However, the A-list celebrity couple have been living separately and already put their $60 million marital home up for sale. Lopez is allegedly back into working out hard because she had an unhealthy lifestyle when they were still together.

"She's going turbo on the fitness and beauty regime," an unnamed source told Life & Style. "She really resented Ben for months and has been going through a hard time because Ben always criticized her for her OTT workout routine."

While Lopez was strict in her workout and diet, Affleck allegedly didn't share the same passion. Due to this, she had consumed foods she would not have eaten to keep up with her husband.

"She ate junk food with him just to show she could be the gal he wanted. She kept her figure, but it caused her to break away from her optimal body," the source continued while pointing out the dynamic in their relationship. "But now she's going hell for leather to get it back. She's up every morning doing lunges and squats, sweating her butt off at the gym while lining up trips to the health spa."

The "Selena" actress is reportedly planning to use summer "to get in the best shape of her life" and pair her exercise routine with "a hyper diet made up of lean protein and salads and no junk whatsoever."

"It's a tough challenge, but she's enjoying it and wants Ben to see what he's missing while flaunting what she's got," the tipster added. "Which will help her find a new guy when she's good and ready."

Meanwhile, Patti Stanger, known for "The Millionaire Matchmaker," said it would be easier for Affleck to find a new woman than for Lopez to find a new man. She added that the "Marry Me" actress would probably be "really depressed" when her husband starts to date someone else.

"There's not enough quality men for women," Stanger explained.

"Gisele [Bundchen] is gorgeous. JLo's gorgeous. They're probably the two people going standard in the aging department. But women breed, men go to the next one to get over their feelings. It's a whole different dynamic."
