Donald Trump ‘Loves’ Louisiana's Controversial Legislation Requiring 10 Commandments In Schools: ‘Desperately Needed’
Donald Trump expressed his support for recent legislation signed by Louisiana's governor requiring the state's public schools to display the biblical Ten Commandments.
The 78-year-old professed his appreciation for the controversial move publicly via his app, Truth Social, claiming that it was a "major step" toward a "desperately needed" implementation of religion in the country.
"I love the Ten Commandments in public schools, private schools, and many other places, for that matter. Read it — how can we, as a nation, go wrong???" Trump explained.
"This may be, in fact, the first major step in the revival of religion, which is desperately needed in our country. Bring back TTC!!! MAGA2024," the 45th president concluded.
Trump has continued to court religious voters, rallying them for the upcoming election in November. Despite many of his supporters being on board with the bold move, some used their voice to call him out as a hypocrite.
One energetic contrarian responded with a list of purported contractions, in addition to calling the former president out for his recent conviction of 34 felony counts while attempting to "advocate for Christianity."
Trump — who's in gear to debate Democratic president Joe Biden Thursday — commented on the matter further during a gathering at the Faith & Freedom Coalition.
"Has anyone read the 'Thou shalt not steal'? I mean, has anybody read this incredible stuff? It's just incredible," he began. "They don't want it to go up. It's a crazy world."
Joe Biden has accepted an invitation from CNN to debate the suspected Republican candidate, which may have the potential to set the political tone for the upcoming 2024 campaign.
The debate, set for June 27, will take place in Georgia, which is also considered a key swing state for the election. 'CNN' has confirmed there will not be an audience present.
