Princess Anne, Sister Of King Charles, Hospitalized After Concussion And Minor Injuries During 'Horse' Incident
Princess Anne, the sister of King Charles III, has been admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure following a minor injury and concussion sustained in an incident at her residence, Buckingham Palace confirmed.
According to a royal insider who spoke to 'CNN,' Anne, 73, was walking near horses on her estate at Gatcombe Park in Gloucestershire, western England, when she suffered minor head injuries. While the exact cause of these injuries has not been officially disclosed, medical personnel attending to Princess Anne indicated that her head injuries are consistent with a potential impact involving a horse's head or legs.
Emergency services responded to the scene, providing initial medical assistance before transferring her to Southmead Hospital in Bristol for thorough examinations, treatment, and ongoing observation.
"The Princess Royal has sustained minor injuries and concussion following an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening," Buckingham Palace stated.
"As a precautionary measure," Anne will remain under observation at Southmead Hospital. She is anticipated "to make a full and swift recovery."
The palace also conveyed that the king "has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."
Known for her passion for equestrian sports, Anne competed in the Equestrian events during the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
According to the insider, Anne's recovery progress in the hospital was reported as positive on Monday. The source further mentioned that upcoming royal engagements for the princess have been rescheduled based on medical advice.
