Justin Timberlake's Detaining Officer During DWI Arrest Seen Boating With Friends
The young police officer who apprehended Justin Timberlake for DWI is enjoying summer in the Hamptons without seemingly being concerned by his newfound fame.
Michael Arkinson, the Sag Harbor police officer who stopped Timberlake and escorted him to jail, spent his Sunday relaxing on a boat, approximately an hour north of where he made the arrest. He and his partner, Otis, are noted in the police report as the arresting officers, with Michael receiving recognition for handling Justin's booking.
'TMZ' has obtained photos and videos showing Michael, sometimes shirtless, lounging on a power boat docked at a restaurant in Greenport, New York, over the weekend.
Witnesses at the scene report that Michael was dining and enjoying drinks at Claudio's Waterfront. Despite the attention following the singer's arrest last week, the cop maintained a relatively low profile, although he didn't appear to be actively avoiding notice.
Michael, reportedly accompanied by a few friends, spent several hours at the seafood spot before returning to his boat.
Timberlake was arrested last week after police say he ran a stop sign in New York, according to the 'Associated Press.'
Court papers say the former *NSYNC performer's "eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath, he was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."
The 43-year-old was charged with a driving-while-intoxicated — a misdemeanor. His next court date is scheduled for July 26.
