YouTuber Kai Cenat unfollowed Dr Disrespect on X, formerly Twitter, while streaming after seeing the latter's admission of messaging a minor back in 2017.

"Oh my god. My boy. Go take that break, bro," said the 22-year-old online streamer before unfollowing the older streamer.

"Go be about your own life and s**t."

Dr Disrespect made the admission while revealing why he got permanently banned from the video live-streaming service Twitch in June 2020.

"Everyone has been wanting to know why I was banned from Twitch, but for reasons outside of my control, I was not allowed to say anything for the last several years. Now that two former Twitch employees have publicly disclosed the accusations, I can now tell you my side of the story regarding the ban," he wrote in a tweet.

While he admitted to messaging a minor in 2017, where conversations "sometimes" led to being inappropriate, he said nothing more happened.

"Were there Twitch whisper messages with an individual minor back in 2017? The answer is yes. Were there real intentions behind these messages, the answer is absolutely not. These were casual, mutual conversations that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate, but nothing more," he explained.

"Nothing illegal happened, no pictures were shared, no crimes were committed, I never even met the individual."

Before posting his lengthy tweet, he responded to an X user who quoted Cody Conners, a former CPM explainer at Twitch, saying he "got caught sexting a minor in the then-existing Twitch whispers product."

"He was trying to meet up with her at TwitchCon. The powers that be could read in plain text. Case closed, gang."

In his response, Dr Disrespect said, "Jake, seriously... I get it, it's a hot topic, but this has been settled, no wrongdoing was acknowledged, and they paid out the whole contract."

Aside from Cenat, Robert Bowling, co-founder of the Midnight Society game studio, also chose to cut ties with Dr Disrespect over his admission.

"...If you inappropriately message a minor. I can not work with you. Period," he tweeted.
