It Shouldn't Be An Issue': Eddie Murphy Stands Firm On Martin Lawrence Paying Wedding Bill
If wedding bells are ringing, Martin Lawrence is paying for them.
According to the "Atlanta Black Star", Eddie Murphy is playfully standing firm on his insistence that if his son Eric and Martin Lawrence's daughter Jasmin ever tie the knot, Lawrence will be the one paying for the celebration
Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence have been dating for at least three years now. Murphy and Lawrence have previously acknowledged their approval of the relationship. Murphy said in an interview with "Entertainment Tonight", "They cute, they're an adorable couple," he remarked in an earlier interview.

The topic of who would pay for a potential wedding between their offspring first arose in 2022 when Martin Lawrence jokingly suggested Eddie should foot the bill.
Eddie, however, swiftly turned the tables, recalling his own recent experience with his daughter's wedding expenses. In an interview with "ETalk" Murphy shared, "You're paying for the wedding, Martin. Don't try to switch it up - don't try to change no s***, do no Hollywood switch. If it goes down, Martin is paying. And the wedding better be wonderful."
Fast forward to 2024, and Murphy hasn't softened his stance. When probed again about who would shoulder the financial burden, he quipped, "it shouldn't be an issue. You know, 'Bad Boys' was out the park and Martin has lots and lots of money, so he should be able to pay for a splendid wedding."
While speaking in jest, Murphy is not off the mark when it comes to the remarkable box office performance of 'Bad Boys.' The buddy cop film starring Martin Lawrence and Will Smith.

Martin had a lot of influence in the casting of the film. Will Smith shared in an interview on 'The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon', "They [the studio] had a green light to make the movie... and Martin was first...and Martin actually picked me."
Maybe the impressive box office showing will be what pays for the Lawrence-Murphy wedding.
