Jaguar Wright Claims This D-12 Ghostwriter ‘Invented’ Slim Shady, Fans React: ‘Never Gave Him Credit’
Singer and Industry socialite Jaguar Wright claims a certain D-12 artist is responsible for "inventing" Eminem and his early persona, Slim Shady.
While Wright was discussing the top rappers in hip-hop, she suggested they were KRS-One, Big L, Biggie, Tupac, and Proof — the group member she suggests created the "hottest whiteboy rapper."
Detroit native and rapper, Proof — born Deshaun Dupree Holton — was Eminem's childhood friend. He was fatally shot in 2006 at a Detroit nightclub called 3C located in the city's infamous 8 mile.

"The rap record that Eminem has solely belongs to Proof who wrote it...and taught Marshall [Mathers] how to perform it. Can you imagine? Being one of the dopest black rappers ever, and you invented the hottest whiteboy rapper, and sold it?" Wright, 47, begged the question.
"He invented Slim Shady," she said, referring to the rapper, born Marshall Mathers. "Proof invented Slim Shady. And Marshall never gave him credit," she concluded in the clip.
The fans have spoken, as the comment section was riddled with naysayers who maintain that Eminem gave Proof credit every step of the way. "Eminem credits Proof every chance he gets," one fan replied simply, receiving over 5k likes.
"She isn't exposing Mathers. Em always credits Proof and Dre," a second disagreeer commented. "Lol Eminem has said a million times he would be nothing without Proof," a third naysayer commented — and they are correct.
On April 19, 'Today' covered the late-rapper's passing by highlighting Eminem's words during his packed funeral service, where he made a plea for the city to end violent crimes in addition to publicly crediting the fellow artist, as fans have claimed.
"Proof, he loved people, and people loved him. He was just a people magnet. When you first met him, you wanted to know more about him," said Eminem per the news outlet.
"Without Proof, there would be no Eminem, no Slim Shady and no D12. You're the man," Eminem said.
