Cardi B’s BFF Star Brim Delays Prison Surrender On RICO Charges For Son’s First Day Of Kindergarten
Cardi B's BFF Star Brim tastes freedom a while longer as she's delayed her surrender to prison to be present for her son's first day of school.
"We respectfully request that she be permitted to remain at liberty until September 16, 2024 to allow her son to adjust to his new surroundings and the beginning of school," the attorney wrote in a statement.
Judge George B. Daniels graciously approved her request for the delay, which will grant her permission to see her child off to his first day of kindergarten, a small win on behalf of her and her lawyer.
Cardi's bestie was arrested in 2020 alongside 17 other people in a RICO case related to her involvement in an NYC gang called 59 Brims — a subset of the NYC Blood gang.
Brim, born Yonette Respass, was initially due to begin her prison sentence on July 1 after pleading guilty to involvement in criminal activities back in March.
The 33-year-old was described by prosecutors as the highest-ranking female member of the gang, referred to as "The Godmother" of the clan, per 'HotNewHipHop'.
The new schedule will push Brim's prison entry to September 20 of this year. The location and facility is set to be determined by the Bureau of Prisons. The media outlet reported that while Brim is behind bars, her sister will take care of the child.
'HotNewHipHop' also reported that the conditions behind Star Brim's release indicate that she must fulfill an outpatient mental health treatment program and comply with routine drug testing.
That said, this wouldn't be the first time Brim participated in reckless behavior. She was also charged for allegedly orchestrating a beat-down at a now permanently closed strip club called Angels, in Queens.
Federal agents alleged that Brim was behind bars when she still managed to send an order to "put hands on them."
