Lada Gaga Not The Reason Diddy Was Dropped By Powerhouse Law Firm
Despite everything, the rapper has cleared his Instagram profile, leaving only a link to an album.
Sean "Diddy" Combs' relationship with a top-tier law firm was unaffected by any pressure from Lady Gaga.
The troubled founder of Bad Boy Records, who is currently facing multiple sexual assault allegations, was believed to have been dropped by Grubman, Shire, Meiselas, and Sacks about eight weeks ago due to the severity and volume of the accusations.
However, the firm has now clarified that the report suggesting Lady Gaga influenced their decision is inaccurate.
"The decision to part ways with Mr. Combs was proactively made by the partners in the firm a number of months ago as they felt it was the right thing to do," a company spokesperson informed Page Six. "The report that the decision was the result of client pressure just isn't true."
Grubman, Shire, Meiselas, and Sacks, who represent high-profile celebrities, including Lady Gaga, are one of the leading law firms in the entertainment industry.
NewsNation reported on June 28 that the firm had severed ties with Combs due to pressure from the "Poker Face" singer.
"Lady Gaga said she was leaving [the firm] if they didn't drop Diddy. And she's too big to lose," an insider reportedly told the outlet.
However, a source familiar with the singer told Page Six, "That convo never happened."
Many companies connected to Combs have distanced themselves from the rapper as he faces numerous lawsuits.
The New York Post disclosed that Mayor Eric Adams rescinded Combs' key to the city three weeks after CNN released a video showing him physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel in 2016.
Additionally, Combs was compelled to resign as chairman and cut ties with Revolt TV, the media company he co-founded.
Recently, Combs wiped his Instagram account clean amid increasing allegations against him, including a video where he apologized after the footage of his assault on Ventura came to light.
