The intensifying presidential election is evident as Vice President Kamala Harris takes to the awards show circuit. During Sunday night's 2024 BET Awards, Harris unexpectedly appeared in a pre-recorded segment sponsored by the Biden/Harris campaign. She engaged in a discussion with Taraji P. Henson, also a Howard University alum and the host of the awards show.

They communicated via FaceTime, with Henson joining from backstage and Harris seemingly connecting from her home. They discussed their shared experience at their alma mater, an HBCU, and Henson expressed concerns about the upcoming presidential election. "Women's reproductive rights are on the line, our Supreme Court is on the line," Henson emphasized. "Our basic freedoms are being tested Madame VP! I know you've been traveling across the country, what have you been hearing?"

"Yeah, girl I'm out here in these streets, and let me tell you - you're right, Taraji, there is so much at stake in this moment," Harris guaranteed her. "The majority of us believe in freedom and equality. But these extremists, as they say - they 'not like us.'"

"No, that's not true," Henson replied to Harris mentioning the title of Kendrick Lamar's latest diss track aimed at Drake, which premiered at the top spot on the Hot 100 chart.

Harris's appearance followed closely on the heels of what many perceived as a lackluster performance by Biden in his initial debate against convicted felon Trump, where the president seemed occasionally bewildered and unfocused.
