Netizens Suggest Jamie Foxx Suffered A Stroke Or Aneurysm After He Recounts 2023 Medical Emergency

Jamie Foxx opened up about his medical emergency last year that prompted his absence from the public spotlight for months.
In a video shared on X, formerly Twitter, by The Art of the Dialogue, Foxx detailed the health scare he encountered in 2023. He told a group of people gathering around him outside a cafe in Phoenix that it started with a "bad headache," so he asked for an Advil. After that, "I was gone for 20 days," and "I don't remember anything."
His recollection of the medical emergency sparked various speculations about what his condition was exactly. Foxx had never confirmed what really happened and what his diagnosis was. However, many were convinced that he suffered a stroke, while others suggested it was aneurysm after seeing the video.

"So, a stroke?" one asked.
Another opined, "I think so...blood pressure was high, i.e. headache. Then the Advil, which is a blood thinner, triggered it."
"Sounds like a stroke, but of course, anti-vaxxers will assume it's the vaccine because they already have their minds made up," a third person commented.
"I have to say, this never even crossed my mind. He took an Advil for a bad headache and ended up hospitalized and unable to walk. At the time, I had thought it sounded more like he had a stroke," a different user shared.
"Advil is ibuprofen, which thins blood. [It] may well have tipped the blood-brain barrier [too] far," another added.
So, a stroke?

Jamie Foxx literally explained exactly what happens when you have a ruptured brain aneurysm and you idiots are saying it was the Advil or the industry is trying to take him out. Just dumb as hell.

"Or an aneurism (sic)," a different commenter suggested.
Another person who shared the same opinion added, "Maybe an aneurysm."
"Jamie Foxx literally explained exactly what happens when you have a ruptured brain aneurysm, and you idiots are saying it was the Advil or the industry is trying to take him out. Just dumb as hell," a different social media user argued.
Stroke and brain aneurysm are similar but not the same, according to neurosurgeon Yevgenia Shekhtman, M.D. Aneurysm is a weakness in the blood vessel's wall that leads to ballooning or bulging, which can result in the wall rupturing. The blood then comes out of the artery and damages the brain structures near it. Aneurysm can lead to stroke but not vice versa, the expert said, per Hackensack Meridian Health.
A stroke is a medical emergency that occurs when the blood flow is impeded. There are different kinds of strokes; aneurysm can reportedly cause ischemic stroke.

When Foxx had a medical emergency, he was rushed to the hospital. Although it wasn't clear what his condition was, TMZ noted that the health facility where he stayed specialized in "stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation."
In the recent video where Foxx spoke about his condition, he also shared that he was given a cortisone shot and recalled a doctor saying, "Something's going on up there," while pointing to his head.
"I won't say it on camera," he said, making the crowd laugh. "But it was...," he added with a shrug before the clip ended.
