Melania Trump was spotted for the first time after her noticeable absence at the first 2024 presidential debate last week.

The former first lady was photographed walking into Trump Tower in New York City on Monday. In the photos obtained by the Daily Mail, she looked chic in her green skinny pants, black jacket and black flats. The ex-FLOTUS also wore dark sunglasses and carried a large black Louis Vuitton bag.

Aides were also seen loading piles of Louis Vuitton luggage onto carts to bring them inside the Trumps' residence. It remains unclear where Melania has been spending her summer. The family usually spends time in Bedminster, New Jersey, where the businessman-turned-politician owns a home and a private golf club.

Melania's sighting came after she skipped her husband, Donald Trump's first face-off with Joe Biden for the 2024 presidential debate on Thursday. Biden was joined by his wife, Jill Biden. She appeared on stage at the debate's conclusion. Trump walked off the stage alone.

The outlet noted that Melania was present in all debates in the 2016 and 2020 election cycles.

"Families started attending the debates regularly in 1976, and it would be pretty shocking for the wife of a candidate to break that tradition," said Dr. Lindsay Chervinsky.

However, Melania was seemingly keen on breaking tradition. Axios surveyed a "handful of Melania-ologists," and the participants were convinced that should Trump win the election, she would not move with him into the White House.

"Melania does what Melania wants," said Mary Jordan, a Washington Post associate editor and author of "The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump."

Jordan added that Melania would "stand out in history from any other first lady" if she did not move to the White House. Despite this, they believe Melania will not be a total no-show and will likely be at the White House for ceremonial undertakings like special dinners and events.

Melania was also noticeably absent at Trump's hush money trial. However, she and her husband were spotted together at their son Barron's graduation.

Last month, Trump sat down for an interview with Dr. Phil, and he was asked how Melania was holding up amid his legal battles and after his conviction. The ex-POTUS said it wasn't easy for his wife to read the "fake" stuff about him, and she didn't discuss bad stuff with him.

"I think if it wasn't good, she wouldn't want to tell me about it, to be honest with you, because she sees that I'm fighting like hell. I'm trying to become president and make America great again," Trump said of Melania.
