Michael Jordan's Ex-Wife Breaks Silence After Reports Claim She Was Robbed In Chicago: 'Stop This Nonsense'
A day after a journalist claimed that Juanita Vanoy Jordan, Michael Jordan's ex-wife, was carjacked in Chicago, Juanita criticized the reporter for spreading incorrect information.
On Saturday, June 29, Amy Jacobson of 'AM 560 The Answer' tweeted that Juanita had been carjacked outside of her Chicago home. She alleged that the thieves escaped with her Rolls-Royce. Jacobson also tagged 'TMZ' in a suspected attempt to gain wider coverage.
"Juanita Jordan, Michael Jordan's ex wife was carjacked outside her home in Chicago," Jacobson claimed. "Her white Rolls-Royce, gun, wallet, and keys were stolen. Imagine if she had been murdered?"
Jacobson also claimed that the suspects were two Black males who were still at large.
Upon learning about the alleged robbery, Juanita took to her social media to set the record straight.
"Amy, I don't know you, but this is Juanita Vanoy Jordan and this is NOT TRUE!!!" Juanita tweeted on June 30.
A few minutes later, she added another post: "Stop this nonsense!!!! NOTHING STATED HERE IS TRUE. LIES, LIES, LIES."
In a third tweet directed at Jacobson, Juanita clarified, "I don't live in Chicago, I don't drive a Rolls-Royce. IF I owned a Rolls-Royce, I would have a driver and security. Said driver and security would absolutely be strapped-TRUST! If any of this were true, it would read '2 Black male suspects shot and...' YKMYK. People, take it from someone who has been covered by the media: Believe NONE of what you read."
It's unclear whether the journalist has apologized or addressed her reports.
Juanita was married to Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan from September 1989 through December 2006.
The Jordans lived in the Windy City while Jordan continued his basketball career before eventually retiring. Vanoy filed for divorce in 2002.
They are the parents to three children; Jeffrey, 35, Marcus, 33, and Jasmine, 31, who are all reportedly involved with their father's Air Jordan line or basketball.
According to 'PEOPLE,' Vanoy received a $168 million dollar divorce settlement from the six-time NBA champion.
