Marlon Brando was not a fan of Clint Eastwood, according to Eddie Murphy.

During a recent interview with The New York Times' "The Interview" podcast, the "Beverly Hills Cop" star recalled learning about Brando's opinion of Eastwood while hanging out with the late Oscar-winning actor in the '80s.

Murphy revealed that after he starred in his first film, "48 Hrs.," in 1982, many stars wanted to "have a meal with" him, including Brando.

"After '48 Hrs.' Marlon Brando calls my agent and wants to meet me," he told the podcast. "Now I look back and go, 'Wow, that's crazy: The greatest actor of all time wants to have dinner with you!' But back then I just thought, 'Well, that's the way it is: You make a movie, and Marlon Brando calls.'"

According to the "Shrek" star, Brando invited him to his home on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles for dinner.

During their conversation, Brando -- who died at age 80 in 2004 -- told him he couldn't "stand" Eastwood, whom he referred to as "that kid" despite being just six years older than him.

"This is how long ago it was: [Brando] was going, 'I can't stand that kid with the gun.' I was like, 'What kid with the gun?' He said, 'He's on the poster!'" Murphy recalled.

"I was like, 'Clint Eastwood?' 'Yeah, that guy!' That's how long ago it was. He was calling Clint Eastwood 'that kid,'" he added.

Murphy said this was one of the two times he met Brando for dinner.

The first time was at the rooftop restaurant of the L'Ermitage hotel in Los Angeles.

For their second outing, Murphy said Brando picked him up at L'Ermitage before they drove to the latter's home.

"There was a time mix-up, and I came down like a half-hour late -- he was waiting for me in the car," he shared.

Murphy said Brando dismissed his praise of "The Godfather" and Brando's performance as Don Vito Corleone.

"I was just going on and on about 'The Godfather,' and he was like, 'Eh, "The Godfather."' Not just 'The Godfather' -- acting. He was like, 'Acting is bulls**t, and everybody can act,'" Murphy recalled.

Murphy is currently on a press tour for "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F," the fourth movie in the "Beverly Hills Cop" franchise.

The film sees Murphy reprise his role as Detective Axel Foley of the Detroit Police Department 30 years after "Beverly Hills Cop III."

"Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" hit theaters Wednesday.
