Influencer Dies After Undergoing BBL Surgery; Doc Claims Death Caused By Infected Bedsheets
Brazilian influencer Aline Ferreira has died of complications after undergoing a butt lift procedure. She was 33.
The lifestyle blogger and mom of two reportedly underwent a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) procedure on June 23 to enhance the size of her buttocks. According to the Daily Mail, the surgery took place at the unlicensed Ame-se clinic in Goiânia.
Each of her buttocks was reportedly injected with 30 ml of polymethyl methacrylate during the procedure by Grazielly da Silva, a biomedical scientist who owns the clinic that was allegedly not licensed to perform such an operation.

Per Brazil's National Health Surveillance Agency, the injectable gel should only be used to treat diseases like polio.
Based on the preliminary information acquired by Correio Braziliense, the influencer suffered from fever and stomach pain last Wednesday and fainted the next day. At the time, her husband reportedly reached out to da Silva's clinic but was told that what his wife was experiencing "was normal and that she should take medicine for the fever."
However, she ended up having a coma in a hospital in the Federal District where she suffered two cardiac arrests, one last Friday and the second on Sunday.
Ferreira was declared dead on Tuesday.
Just recently, a post about her wake was shared on her Instagram account, saying, "For friends and family who wish to pay their last respect, the wake will take place on 04/07/2024 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ecumenical Temple of the Gama Cemetery."
Seeing the post, her followers and other social media users on the platform sent their messages of condolences.
Meanwhile, da Silva has since countered the family's claims and said she only applied a bio stimulator on Ferreira.
She also suggested that the infection Aline suffered may have been caused by contaminated bedsheets at the influencer's home.
Da Silva was arrested on Tuesday as part of the investigation into Ferreira's death.
