Ben Affleck 'At His Breaking Point' Amid 'Tense' Divorce Negotiation With Jennifer Lopez: Report
Ben Affleck sparked concern among the people around him amid the divorce rumors surrounding him and Jennifer Lopez.
The "Gone Girl" actor and the "Let's Get Loud" singer have been plagued with divorce rumors for months, even if they are still seen in public together. They also seemingly fueled the rumors by living separately and putting their $60 million marital home for sale. An unnamed insider spoke about Affleck's recent behavior with the paparazzi. He was seen snapping at them last month for allegedly endangering his life.
"It's not surprising he snapped," a source told In Touch. "He's at his breaking point."
The outlet also claimed that Affleck is in the midst of "tense" negotiations with divorce lawyers and Lopez. The A-list couple is reportedly ending their two-year marriage. While the "Marry Me" actress jetted off to Italy for a solo vacation last month, Affleck was allegedly struggling and "in a shocking spiral."
Also, the rumors about his marriage are allegedly taking a toll on him. Since May, there have been speculations about Affleck and Lopez's marital strife.
"People close to Ben have been concerned about him for some time because of what he's gone through in the past couple of months," the insider continued.
Affleck, who has been spending time with his kids, is reportedly affected by the report. The "Accountant" star's priority is his family, and he reportedly saw how much his first divorce from ex-wife Jennifer Garner and the frenzy over his romance with Lopez affected his kids.
"He's in a really dark place," the source said. "And when he gets like this, they can't help but fear the worst."
Jacqueline Newman, a managing partner at the matrimonial law firm Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein LLP, previously shared her thoughts about Bennifer with Showbiz Cheat Sheet. The legal expert was convinced that they had been working on their divorce agreement quietly.
"It feels like they are trying to let the public down easy by dropping hints about the marriage ending but not yet officially announcing it," Newman said. "If it is, in fact, over, I would bet that the terms are already worked out and the papers are already signed."
The two likely had a prenuptial agreement since both had already gone through previous divorces, and they had just been married for two years. Their divorce agreement would not be that difficult, according to Newman. However, she believed the "court to public opinion" would be the "tougher divorce."
